Jessica Scott
Jessica Scott is currently an English Major at the University of Louisville. She has been reading and writing since the age of three, and has had quite a lot of recognition for her work. Before she was finished with elementary school, she had won two Young Authors competitions and had been published in a poetry anthology. In fifth grade, she won the National Geographic World Essay Contest, beating thousands of other competitors across Kentucky. In middle school, she took second place in a highly publicized Blockwatch essay contest.
In high school Jessica was in the top ten percent of her class, and was involved in several prestigious clubs, such as the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. She made the High Honor Roll every semester, and was subsequently featured in several volumes of Who's Who Among American High School Students, and The National Honor Roll. At graduation, she had a nearly-perfect grade point average of 3.88, which she carried into college. In her freshman year at UofL, she was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and remains near the top of her class. Most recently, she was commissioned to do a rewrite of the classic fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" for the up-and-coming new children's story website, StoryJumper.com.
As an English Major with a concentration in Creative Writing, she has written countless literary analyses, criticisms, and book reviews, as well as many poems and short stores. She uses the knowledge she has obtained from her experience in school and her personal life to write articles for the Reading & Literature section of Suite 101, but also dabbles in the Film and TV section.
